Welcome, New Member, to The Association Of Video Reactors (AVR). As an accredited organisation, we represent the interests of the vast and expanding world of YouTube Video Reactors. We provide insight and support to our membership, which covers the entire gamut of the reaction video market from Music, Television, Fashion, Comics, Sport, History, to Reaction To Reaction videos.
To help you on your journey into the rewarding world of reaction videos, we have compiled a set of guidelines that fully Certified Members of AVR MUST follow.
GENERAL REACTION GUIDELINES
2. YOU MUST declare its brilliance irrespective of the actual merits of said content.
3. Certified Members are REQUIRED to complain about Content ID claims / copyright strikes / takedowns ONCE per reaction video.
4. Previous limits on the frequency, format and repetition of requests to Like, Share and Subscribe have now been removed.
5. As per SECTION IIA, continued AVR Certification is subject to agreed targets for Patreon members gained per upload.
6. YOU MUST NOT INTERACT with any comment posted four* days after the Video Upload date. Liking any more than 6 comments may result in suspension from the AVR Certification programme.
*Supersedes previous five-day limit.
TECHNICAL GUIDELINES
1. Members are licensed for ONE PAIR OF HEADPHONES, irrespective of the number of participants in the reaction.
2. Microphones with clothing clips MUST BE HAND-HELD AT ALL TIMES.
3. Lighting, picture and sound quality MUST NOT meet AVR’s minimum requirements.
4. Official YouTube Creator Awards MUST occupy an AVR-Approved position within the reaction frame, sufficiently prominent to ensure recognition while retaining the appearance of incidental placement.
5. CONTINUED AVR Certification requires all USER backgrounds to be visually distracting. This includes, but is not limited to, neon signs, unmade beds, TV or film merchandise, or other incongruous objects.*
*See Appendix 4.
MUSIC REACTION GUIDELINES
1. Classical musicians reacting to non-classical music MUST note the surprising similarity to a classical composer, mid to late atonal composers preferred — for example Penderecki's "Threnody To The Victims Of Hiroshima" evident in the musical progression underpinning the lyric.
2. YOU MUST identify the chords; you MUST declare "yeah, that's a D triple-sharp minor."
3. Humming or singing along remains entirely at the User's discretion.
4. YOU MUST express disbelief at the artistry.
FILM / TV / SPORT REACTION GUIDELINES
1. YOU MUST speak over and through moments of dramatic tension. Special dispensation is granted to fully Certified Members to engage in incessant, incoherent babbling.
2. Members displaying THIRD-PARTY AUDIOVISUAL MATERIAL within the reaction frame MUST ONLY use AVR-Approved measures such as watermarking, image mirroring or other explicitly sanctioned content-matching evasion methods as listed in Section 14F.
3. YOU MUST TAKE all reasonable steps to ensure that the phrase "I called it" (or AVR-Approved equivalent) is used AT LEAST 3 times during any video featuring TV or Film content.
REACTION TO REACTION VIDEO GUIDELINES
1. YOU MUST NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, provide a link to, or acknowledgement of, the original content producer.
THUMBNAILS MUST FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES
1. Images of the participants MUST show MOUTHS AGAPE.
2. ONLY THE RIGHT HAND may be placed on forehead to signal amazement.
3. In line with recent rule changes, thumbnails MUST feature AI-generated imagery.
